NeST Hardware Setup

This guide covers the complete installation and configuration of your NeST device.

What's in the Box

• NeST device
• Power adapter
• Ethernet cable
• Scoreboard data cable
• Quick start card

Installation Steps

1. Physical Connection

Connect the NeST device to your scoreboard's data port using the included cable. Most scoreboards have a standard serial or network port.

2. Network Connection

Connect the included Ethernet cable from the NeST to your network switch or router before applying power.

Note: Ethernet is strongly recommended for initial setup. WiFi can be configured after the device is online.

3. Power Connection

Plug in the power adapter. The NeST device will boot up and begin initialization (LED will flash).

4. Network Configuration (if not using Ethernet)

If you need WiFi or cellular instead of Ethernet:

WiFi

• Use the ScoreBird mobile app to configure WiFi settings
• Select your network and enter credentials

Cellular

• No configuration needed
• Device connects automatically via built-in LTE

4. Activation

1. Note the device serial number (on the label)
2. Log in to customer.scorebird.com
3. Navigate to Devices > Add Device
4. Enter serial number and complete activation

Troubleshooting

Device Won't Power On

• Check power adapter connection
• Try different outlet
• Contact support if LED remains off after 30 seconds

No Score Data

• Verify scoreboard connection is secure
• Ensure scoreboard is powered on
• Check that scoreboard model is supported
